I didn't set out to become a children's book author. I became one because I'm a mother first, and I kept noticing the same thing at bedtime: my kids didn't just want stories about dragons and far-off kingdoms. They wanted stories about them — about the nervous flutter before a first sleepover, the pride of being trusted with something new, the relief of realizing they could handle more than they thought.
Amber was born and raised in the small, southern town of Union, South Carolina. She also graduated from the University of South Carolina Columbia.

My Story
Every book carries the same quiet message: you're allowed to feel unsure, and you don't have to feel it by yourself. That's the feeling I want every reader to close the book with.
My characters get nervous, make mistakes, and try again — because that's what growing up actually looks like. I'd rather write something honest than something flawless.
